Why get married on Safari?

When people dream about their wedding day, the overwhelming desire is for a celebration filled with memorable experiences. So, what could be more magical than saying “I do” on the banks of the Machaton River between the arches of two giant fig trees?

To make your lifetime commitment in an environment filled with natural beauty and earthly energy – a place that has remained untouched for many lifetimes – is not only incredible for the bridal couple, but for everyone who comes to witness the marriage too.

The nature of our beautiful location in the heart of the Timbavati and because we operate as a family-run tented camp, our wedding celebrations draw inspiration from our beautiful surrounds and are deeply connected to nature. Our event style draws inspiration from nature’s pure organic beauty and from the environment. Our marriage celebrations are incredibly unique and intimate.

We create magical ceremonies with absolute privacy out in the bush, each one serenaded by our amazingly talented Tanda Tula choir, who not only create the mood, but also bring colourful African tradition to the day. Afterwards, guests celebrate and toast to the start of a new journey while enjoying sundowners, only to return to the fairy lit lodge and a delicious dinner.

What makes a safari wedding even more memorable and special is that it lasts for a whole weekend, giving everyone more time to share experiences, including game drives, bush breakfasts and safari walks – all the while having the opportunity to spend quality time with one another, making this a truly beautiful and authentic connection.

What more memorable and magical way to start your married journey together than under African skies surrounded by the sheer magnificence that Mother Nature created?
