Recent happenings with the Timbavati Foundation

The Timbavati Foundation focuses on human 'togetherness' to make a difference in conservation, education and environmental awareness. Their core focus rests on four pillars, namely:

2017 year-end activities

Learners from local schools visited the Timbavati Foundation Environmental School (TFES) where they are taught and made aware of local environmental issues. The first 5 schools that implemented and managed their projects very well were rewarded with field trips to the Kruger National Park.

Madizi High School (finally) has a proper kitchen

The school had to store learners’ food in a wooden building which led to many burglaries. A solution came when the Timbavati Foundation approved their proposal and decided to donate a proper kitchen for them.

New schools visit Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre

The Timbavati Foundation brings kids in close contact with nature to change their mindset. We believe that these kids will value the animals and as such become inspired to love and protect them for the benefit of the future generation as well.

Bright and Benedict successfully complete their field ranger training

Bright Dibakoane and Benedict Chiloane have been the bravest 2 of the 12 Timbavati Foundation students. None of the previous years’ students was prepared to undergo the tough training. We are so proud of these two boys.

Lap desks donation to South African Medical Expedition (SAME)

After discovering that the children had to use card boards on their laps for writing, Timbavati Foundation staff  Wendy and Lazaro decided to donate about 50 lap desks that were, in turn, donated to the Foundation by the Zurich Insurance Company.
