Accommodation
Located beneath shaded trees you will find 3 quaint log cabins. Each has its own bathroom and wooden deck. The deck offers a relaxing space in which guests can sit back and fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings. The cabins are just a stones throw away from the main lodge area, pool and boma. With only three cabins within the camp, it allows for a very intimate and personalised safari experience. Guest also have the option to book out the entire camp. This then allows for up to 8 guests as well as children under the age of 12.
All windows and doors of the cabins are fitted with bug screens which prevents the unwanted mosquitoes getting inside. The water in the taps is safe to drink and their is strong pressure in the gas-geyser showers. Guests can thus make the most of a warm soothing shower at the end of the day. The camp is not run on electricity, and all rooms are solar charged. As a result no charging of batteries and cellphones can be done in the cabins. There are however relevant facilities situated within the main camp area.

About the camp
When not on game drives or relaxing in your wood cabins, guests can make the most of the communal area. Housed under high thatched ceilings, this space exudes natural and authentic safari feels. The indoor lounge area offers a cool space during the summer. Come winter this is an extremely cozy spot with the fireplace warming the room up nicely.
Evenings can be spent dining out on the covered wooden deck or under the stars within the boma sitting around the camp fire. During the hot summer days the plunge pool will offer a welcome break from the heat that can often be hard to escape from.
Guests wishing to book the entire camp out on a self catering basis will have full use of the small kitchen. Provided are the essentials such as gas fridge, stove and oven. Crockery, cutlery and cookware is available for guests to use, however electrical devices such as a toaster and microwave are not available. Hot water will be boiled for guests every morning and poured into an urn ready for that first cup of tea or coffee.
Housekeeping and maintenance staff are on site, thus allowing guests to completely relax during their stay. Furthermore there is also a private chef. He will take care of all your breakfasts, lunches and 3 course dinners should you wish to book the fully catered option available.
Game Drives
When staying at Avoca, you will be treated to some fantastic game viewing opportunities within the Timbavati Nature Reserve. Guests will have the option of two game drives per day. The first in the early hours of the morning and the second come late afternoon. Each drive will be about 3 hours long with a coffee break on the morning drive and a sundowner stop during the evening drive.
Between drives guests have an ample choice of activities within camp. Relaxing around the pool, having a quick nap in your quaint cabin, reading within the lounge or private deck or doing a spot of bird watching within the surrounding camp grounds. With perimeter fences, guests can ensure their safety from the wild throughout their stay.
