15 November: Dogs!

My weeks reporting period started very early, and whilst enjoying some good company with the guests after dinner on the verandah, we were lucky enough to see Xiviti male leopard walking around on the opposite side of the riverbed, and this, together with roaring lions in the early hours of the morning gave us a mission for the morning.  I headed out to follow up on Xiviti while Richard and Herold followed up on the lion tracks that came past the western side of camp.  I wasn’t even 6 minutes from camp when we found a lot of commotion on the road – I first saw the leoprd tracks, Jacky first saw the lion tracks, but then as the signs started showing themselves, the story unfolded.
