Today, 18 July, the nation and world commemorates what would be Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday. Celebrating 'Mandela Day' is one of the ways that people can contribute to a better nation - as the late Nelson Mandela did.
By devoting 67 minutes of your time you can make a powerful difference. Even the smallest gesture of humanity can speak volumes. Each minute represents a year of Mandela's public service.
The children on the Tanda Tula Scholarship programme, along with the Southern Cross pupils, spent 67 minutes planting vegetable seeds. These will be given to families in one of the local villages. In turn, it will allow them to start their own sustainable food garden.
